Actor and Academic

(among others)

Lovely to meet you!

My name is George Concannon (Terrence Concannon in the performance/poetry world). I’m a Long Island-based performer, writer, dramaturg, stage manager, and so much more.

My roots lie in performing musical theater, but in college I’ve developed a passion for working with classical texts like Shakespeare and the Greeks. My dramaturgical interests include Shakespearean adaptation as well as the interaction between contemporary social understandings and classical texts.

Most recently, I graduated summa cum laude and with highest departmental honors from Hofstra University, and will be starting my Master’s in English Literature at Georgetown University this fall. I am ecstatic to announce that my adaptation of King Lear will be produced as part of Hofstra’s 76th Annual Shakespeare Festival!

Oscar Wilde said that to define is to limit, so I don’t define myself as a single kind of artist. I’m always open to learning new crafts and creative skills!
